B & J Consultants was formed in 2008 to provide companies with whatever assistance they require, to establish systems to meet one of, or a combination of, a variety of Standards, such as ISO9001, ISO14001 or OHSAS18001. However, as many of the Industrial sectors have their own specialist standards, the above is usually only the first step. (See Standards List)
We are there to provide advice, develop the systems, train the staff and project manage the implementation, to levels agreed with the Client in advance. We are there to hold your hand and provide support, or to totally manage the whole event. However, at the end of the project, when we walk away, you must be confident in your own ability to successfully continue the operation of the system.
Unfortunately, it is still evident, that the title of "Consultant" is a dirty word! Either because in hard times Consultants are asked to (or claim to be able to) improve efficiency and reduce costs, which almost certainly necessitates a reduction of labour. Also, in terms of ISO9001, the "Consultant" is judged by the number of words/pages generated when constructing the Quality Management System. Regrettably we find many instances where we are simplifying over - detailed documented systems previously specified.
Our aim is to break these moulds - our Consultants have many years of experience and in the majority of instances we get our businesses through referrals. For those who do come to us directly, with no knowledge of our experience, we encourage contact with past Clients to seek independent verification of our abilities. We would prefer to get away from the title Consultant, and use Mentor or Coach - we would then reduce the chance of our Website reaching a significant number of potential Clients.
We believe we are different - we listen carefully to your needs, and try wherever possible to work within any financial constraints. If we feel that what you are asking for cannot be achieved within the budget, then we will walk away with a shake of your hand. We will not take on contracts and then when at a critical point, hold a gun to your head asking for increased fees.
We endeavour where possible to build the systems around your existing Management processes, providing of course that these meet the requirements of the existing standards. It is recognised that this improves the acceptance factor. The aim being to construct a Business Management System that provides useful reporting and controls, and facilitates continuous business improvement.
